Introduction
BottleneckPC ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by Softseer LLC. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you visit bottleneckpc.com (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
We do not require account creation and do not collect personal information such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers through normal Site usage. The information we collect includes:
- Hardware detection data: When you use our bottleneck calculator, the Site may use WebGL to detect your GPU and CPU information. This data is processed locally in your browser and is not transmitted to our servers.
- Usage analytics: We collect standard web analytics data including pages visited, time spent on pages, referring URLs, browser type, device type, and approximate geographic location (country/region level). This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual users.
- Cookies and similar technologies: We use cookies for essential site functionality and analytics. See the "Cookies" section below for details.
How We Use Information

Cookies
We use the following types of cookies:
- Essential cookies: Required for basic site functionality. These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies: Help us understand how visitors interact with the Site by collecting anonymous usage data.
- Advertising cookies: In the future, we may use advertising services such as Google AdSense, which use cookies to serve relevant ads. These third-party cookies are governed by the respective service's privacy policies.
Consent first: Analytics and advertising cookies are not set until you accept them in our cookie banner. If you decline, Google Analytics runs in a cookieless mode that stores no identifiers on your device, and no advertising cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer. We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out. Affiliate retailers (such as Amazon and Rakuten/Newegg) may set their own cookies when you click a product link to their sites, governed by their privacy policies.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information (California)
We do not sell personal information for money. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the use of third-party analytics, advertising, and affiliate tracking identifiers may be considered "sharing" of personal information. California residents can opt out of this sharing:
- Click "Cookie Preferences" in the footer and choose Decline - this prevents analytics and advertising identifiers from being set on your device.
- Enable the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser or browser extension - we treat it as a valid opt-out automatically.
- Email us at bottleneckpc@softseer.com with any privacy request, including requests to know or delete.
We do not knowingly collect or share personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
